Storm Damage – Wilmington Home

Storm damage to this Wilmington home was the result of roof damage incurred when strong winds associated with the storm blew a tree onto the roof of the house. Gaping holes developed in the roof, allowing rainwater to freely and abundantly pour into the interior of the structure. The insulation in the attic eventually became so soaked and heavy that it broke through the ceiling to the family room below. SERVPRO of New Hanover provides 24/7 emergency services and could quickly respond to place tarps on the roof to prevent additional rainwater from entering the residence. Once the tarps were secure, our team would provide a thorough damage assessment report and a plan for restoration. Then we could dig in and carefully clean up all of the debris that had fallen from the attic. Roof repair would be attended to while the water within the house was being cleaned up. Next commercial air movers and dehumidifiers would be employed to dry all affected surfaces. Once the drying phase was completed, the damaged building materials would be replaced.
